The Law of Magic

Upon earning entry to the prestigious University Arcanum, mage-in-training Kyzyl Hideyoshi is given the chance to study at one of the greatest centers for the arcane. But succumbing to his hubris leads the mage to unleash a terrible force upon the land.

As a child, Kyzyl was fascinated by the world of magic, and now, as a young man, he seeks to extend his knowledge by studying under the world’s greatest masters of the arcane arts. However, inexperienced and naïve Kyzyl doesn’t hold every subject in high regard as he clashes with the Master of Clerics on matters of faith and philosophy.

Convinced that the Master Cleric is unworthy of his position and respect due to his belief in faith-based magic, the young mage seeks a way to discredit not only his tutor, but all who all who intertwine their faith with their magic. And, in doing so, he unwittingly unleashes a violent force that threatens not only his life, but the lives of everyone on the continent of Aragore.

With his life on the line, and full of regret, Kyzyl must right his wrongdoing and undo his grievous mistake. But can the mage push himself mentally, physically, and morally in order to succeed in this quest and, along the way, will the young man learn what is truly required to become a great wizard? Or, will this one moment of magical misjudgment be his lifelong legacy?

Chronicles of Aragore Part 1: Naming

Thrust together by fate, a diverse group of adventurers from a mix of races and backgrounds—a troll, a samurai, a paladin, an elvish huntress, and a minstrel become the inheritors of a powerful magic that is expressed through knowing the real Name of a person or an object. Chosen as the first of their kind in millennia, Pax, Gerald, Korivare, Jiang, and Telemnar must begin their journey on the path of becoming True Namers.

Whether by fate or the intervention of the divine, as they begin their training this group of five, as the first True Namers in ages, must find a way of brokering peace between the warring gods and their separate pantheons.

But, to master their powers and become the mediators the world needs, they must look deep within themselves to discover who they truly are and the power that their abilities hold. Only then will they be able to come to understand that the actions they take now will affect both the present and the future of Aragore for centuries to come.
